Monopotassium Phosphate, with the chemical formula KH₂PO₄, is a highly efficient phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer. It appears as a white crystalline powder, is easily soluble in water, and forms an acidic aqueous solution. Its most notable feature is its high nutrient content, with phosphorus pentoxide (P₂O₅) typically around 52% and potassium oxide (K₂O) approximately 34%, ensuring precise and efficient supplementation of the two key nutrients—phosphorus and potassium—for crops.

Potassium dihydrogen phosphate has a wide range of functions in agriculture, and can be applied in various growth cycles of crops. It not only supplements nutrients for crops, but also plays a role in controlling crop growth, which is welcomed by a large number of growers due to these characteristics.

1. Monopotassium Phosphate for root irrigation is often thought to be sprayed onto leaves by many people, but in fact, it can also be used for root irrigation and has a very good effect. Potassium dihydrogen phosphate root irrigation has a very good effect. Chili seedlings slow down quickly, leaves become thick and lively, and there are few diseases in the later stage.

2. Monopotassium Phosphate foliar spraying is more suitable for some crops, such as some fruit trees, which may experience vigorous growth when there is heavy rainfall or suitable temperature, and poor management. At this time, foliar spraying is more suitable. While supplementing nutrients, it can also have a controlling effect, killing two birds with one stone. Foliar fertilizer and potassium dihydrogen phosphate were sprayed on the leaves of blueberries, making them robust and without excessive growth, resulting in a large amount of fruit in the later stages.

3. Secondary dilution of Monopotassium Phosphate is divided into crystalline and powder forms, but regardless of the dosage form, secondary dilution is necessary to ensure that potassium dihydrogen phosphate is sprayed more evenly onto the leaves and to avoid situations such as equipment clogging during fertilization. In addition, some growers use multiple fertilizers together or in combination with pesticides to save time when applying fertilizers. However, it should be noted that Monopotassium Phosphate cannot be applied together with alkaline solutions. It is recommended that when applying various fertilizers and pesticides in combination, small-scale experiments should be conducted first before large-scale application.

Moreover, sodium dihydrogen phosphate has good water solubility and is a physiologically neutral fertilizer: it does not cause significant changes in soil pH, which is beneficial for maintaining soil environmental stability. The utilization rate is extremely high. The utilization rate of potassium dihydrogen phosphate exceeds 80%, far higher than other fertilizers, which means that crops can more effectively absorb the nutrients it provides, reducing nutrient loss and waste.
